Visually, the weapon is nearly identical to the DLT-20a blaster rifle, just as the E-11s and DC-15x are nearly identical to the DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle. Throughout the Galactic Civil War, the E-17d was used extensively by Rebel Alliance Rebel Marksmen against Imperial troops.
The E-17d had a higher magnification level on its scope than Imperial sniper rifles but carried a slightly smaller magazine, with only five shots per magazine. The barrel shroud was perforated along its entire length, giving the weapon a distinctive appearance.
Shots from the BlasTech Industries E-17d sniper rifle were extremely accurate over long distances and remained coherent enough to provide a long-distance punch.
